I just watched Kung Fu Hustle

I guess I didn’t remember anything about this movie apart from the landlady.

It’s so cheesy and enjoyable, but I enjoy most martial arts flicks. However, Kung Fu Hustle is a nice contrast to movies like The Raid or Ong-Bak.

I still think Jackie Chan is my favourite for his mix of fancy moves (and how they’re filmed) and slapstick comedy.

Are there any oppos that are into these kinds of movies? Any good recommendations?

Oh shit I’ve watched the fuck out of that one, this movie is just pure gold. Hackerman, laser raptors, busty Nordic-ish women riding giant doggos, Hitler/Nazis , ‘80s soundtrack, with a generic cop drama thrown in. Plus there’s a triceratops, a dinosaur that’s underrepresented.

Did a quick search. I was going to watch the trailer and I saw Iko Uwais’ name come up, so I’m in. I’ve seen the Raid movies, and Headshot, and the fighting is awesome.

You won’t believe it, but I’m watching Shaolin Soccer right now; Netflix suggested that I watch it.

This is right up my alley, they just did a random dance number and I don’t know wtf is happening.

I’ll echo that the landlady in “Kung Fu Hustle” was tops in that movie , and that Jackie Chan is my absolute favorite in the martial arts genre. If you haven’t already seen Jackie Chan’s “First Strike” and “Who Am I?” make a point to. (I’m assuming “Rumble in the Bronx” is already checked off the list.) Otherwise, Donnie Yen has some interesting ground game incorporated in “Flash Point,” and if you want to go back to the golden age of Chow-Yun Fat and John Woo, “Hard Boiled” and “A Better Tomorrow II ” are legitimately over-the-top with their action sequences.
